| well, i kinda forgot about this thread but i thought i would put in a final update just in case anyone else ever has these same symptoms of ignition failure. the real problem was a combination of the failure of insulation on the plug wire combined with the improper routing of the plug wire. this combo hit resulted in internal problems of the ignition module causing starting to become nearly impossible. by this i mean maybe i could get it start with several hundred kicks. if started, it would run excessively lean, to the point that the header would glow(which is not normal for this bike) lack of power was also felt. this was all due to ignition timing being retarded or not on at all. however when looking for a spark, it was seen in conjunction with tdc. so now apparent damage to the electrical system was available, but was discovered after swapping the ignition module for another. well, i think thats it. thought i would just fill you in.
