| I assume you are comparing two stroke to two stroke, correct? If so, then I would suggest a CR250R over the CR125R. If you are diligent in looking you can find a CR250R in very good condition for $1000. You can also find them for $3000 so it really depends on how much you look. However, I think you will enjoy the CR250R much more.
