I prefer to control the bike with my body. I barely ever touch the gas or brake, unless it is to save a super violent jump. As far as wheelies, that point where you are about to loop out is where you want to be always. How do those 4th and 5th gear crashes treat ya? LOL, I have never lost a wheelie going that fast. Usually once you are up in higher gears they don't have as much effect on causing the bike to loop out. Do you sit or stand usually? |
MAN you have no idea, I rode a wheelie on accident like a week ago and it was the first one ever for me so I was like you know what I'm going to practice. So within a weeks time I have looped out atleast 4 times in 4-5th gear. My bike's plastics are still in good condition but my knee and arms tell a different story.
This is what I do, first I get the bike in the middle of 2nd gear i pop the clutch and ease on the gas. And I just power shift the rest of the gears, too hard for me to use clutch I always drop the front end. And while doing all of this I am sitting down. My body position is as follows, I just noticed this but my body gets into a tucked position (almost as if im riding a sport bike) my head comes up near the tripple clamps and I sit about on the middle of the seat. I've tried to stand but the torque of the bike always whips me back when I pop the clutch. I'm not that big of a guy.
