Good tips!
A few others:
1. Try not to power wash the linkage area! That will definitely drive water into the needle bearings.
2. If you DO power wash, then regrease at least 3 times a year and REPLACE all of the bearings after a year (or sooner).
3. REPLACE the linkage bearings frequently. I say this (again) since I have seen linkages get very loose and they can potentially cause a bunch of problems, like breakage of the linkage in the extreme cases.
4. Pay Attention: to this area of the bike, it accumulates lots of dirt and is always open for abuse, due its location on the bike. Most folks disregard the linkage to try to one of th few that keep an eye on this. Keeping this area clean and in good functional order is critical to having a proper functioning suspension.
5. Yes, use GOOD waterproof grease with a lithium base (this was listed earlier), the manual lists what you should use.
