Riding on rocks

I remember this one enduro I was in and the special test section was 5 miles of lava rock. Nice jagged rocks sticking out of the ground. It was one of the most horrible experiences I ever had (especially on a yz400f a little heavy for a section like that). I crashed a few times falling behind on my minute and it was ever so frustrating. So after this race I made a point of learning how to ride rock better. It is all about speed and body position. You can compare riding rocks to riding in the mud, sand, or whoops. Keep your momentum and stay standing with your ass hanging over the back fender. Do not tense up. Keep the front wheel light and just handle it.

Do you have any rock experiences you would like to share?
