| man, i wasnt even reading everything and didnt see that u had a yz250f. all i saw was yz250. ya, i can tell u from experience that 4 strokes suck to start. i have a rmz250 that is completely rebuilt. its a new bike. after sitting for a week it takes 10 kicks to start compared to a 2 stroke and maybe 2 kicks. anyway if i stall it out, ill be kicking for a couple of mins to get it started. ya, the auto-decompression cam makes it so much easier to start, i dont really kno y yamaha stuck with the old design. the starting drill can help out but the truth is, no one's starting procedure works for anyone else or their bike.
