I am always happy about how 4 strokes have more top end. Also, 4 strokes are great for trails. I can just idle up even the steepest hill climb.

this doesnt make any sense. 4 strokes have more top end? here... look at this dyno of a yz125 vs the 250. the 125 clearly makes more power at the top

It isn't about that 250RPM peak power, it is about large amounts of power. Notice how that two stroke drops right off dealting you no power at the top. Notice how the four stroke always is making more power than the two except for 250RPM range. Never gonna keep the bike right there.

it stays with and above it for about 1000 rpm, at the top. oh well

OH TJ, you still have learning to do. Even 1000RPM is not going to get you anywhere. Think about when you pass that range up and have to shift to keep the power coming while I stay in the gear making the same power. Then when you shift, Rs drop way down taking you out of any power and I shift, dropping right back into full power.
