That is how I do it. I never use that abbreviation. I sometimes even spell out two or four because that is the proper way to do it, at least technically.

2troke is on a distinguished road
I believe 2t originates from two-stroke oil most two-stroke oil has 2T on the container. I guess its a standard so somebody doesnt go picking up the wrong oil.
