   | correct. this is because anodization involves building up and oxide layer onto the aluminum. now the oxide layer would be in the form of rust on a piece of steel. the basic setup of anodizing involves using a lead anode in a solution of sulfuric acid. then a dye is applied and becomes part of the oxidized layer by seeping into the pores in the oxide. then a sealer is applied causing it to never wear off very easily. usually the aluminum is cleaned in sodium hydroxide(aka draino). there ya have it. normal anodizing voltage is about 1.5-2 volts.

| i think its time to trick my bike out, whats was the sealer you used, it doesnt seem that hard actually

| well, you can purchase kit for super cheap. however as a trial i used food coloring and then boiled it in water for like an hour. worked fairly well but i would suggest the kit.

| it worked but after i aggressively steel wooled it it started to come off.

| do you have an aluminum frame? it would work for parts like maybe a wheel spacer or axle block. or maybe idk...

| ya, i wish i knew someone in that biz. the guy that powder coated my frame is thinking about buying into it so..... possibilities maybe. maybe if everyone sent me lots of parts you could get a bulk discount. as for myself, well the discount would hopefully be there for me.
