hey whats up guys. i just bought a 2006 crf 250 r off someone and it ran great. Well it did anyways. now im having trouble. in order for me to start my bike i have to have a buddy push me to pushstart it. the kickstarter wont start it ever. someone told me it was a valve issue? would that be correct? i could really use some tips, so i can save some money and not have to take it to a mechanic.

It very well could be a valve issue
here is a how to on valves:http://www.mototips.com/how-articles/2589-how-maintain-your-valves.html
first, you should check them though, pull the fuel tank, seat, and such off, remove the spark plug pull the valve cover (the cover at the very top of the motor), pull the timing plugs, set the bike to tdc, take a feeler gauge and check the valve lash. if its out of spec (compare against your manual) you need to adjust them.

    If not...compression is next...!

the valves being out of spec would cause a loss of compression :)
