Rockstar/Hart & Huntington Team Riders Troy Adams And Cole Siebler Battle Back At The Georgia Dome
Atlanta, Georgia - February 23, 2008 - After unlucky challenges at Houston's Reliant Stadium last week, Troy Adams and Cole Siebler headed to Atlanta for the AMA Supercross race where they rode strong in front of a record crowd of 67,429 fans.
The week started out busy for the team traveling back east where the weather continued to be a challenge. Troy Adams and the team stopped in at BrandSmart in Atlanta where the local rock station WWWQ 100.5, Q100 did a fantastic job in promoting the event and 300 plus fans got a peak at the RSHH team.
At the practice session both riders were ready to redeem themselves from the previous week. Cole Siebler and Troy Adams both posted top 20 times in the practice session to ensure a position in the night program. Atlanta's track this week featured sand turns and a unique SPIKE wall in a couple of sections. The SPIKE wall proved to be a challenge throughout the race for many riders and definitely provided the fans with some spectacular racing. "The crowd in Atlanta was incredible," said team manager Kenny Watson, "the fans here know how to have a good time."
Troy Adams shot out of the gate in heat one in 5th place, chasing Sorby and Preston for third. As predicted Sorby and Preston got together and Adams struck quickly moving into third position for the heat race where he rode a great race losing one position to factory Yamaha rider Josh Hill. Team Honda took the top two positions with Windham and Short.
Heat number two started out well for Cole Siebler positioning himself in 5th place on the first lap. Siebler rode a solid race finishing 8th, thus going into the finals.
Both riders secured great starting positions for the main event. When the gate dropped for the main, Adams jumped into 5th with Siebler in the top 10 on the first lap. As the riders battled for position and the race settled in, Adams maintained his position and remained in 8th and Siebler in 11th. On the eighth lap, Adams ran into a mishap and crashed hard, taking him out for the remainder of the race. After being inspected by the Asterisk crew, he was given the green light to head back to the pits. Left with carrying Rockstar/H&H to the finish, Siebler rode hard and consistent and finished the evening in 16th place.
Rockstar/H&H is off to Indianapolis for the next round and looking forward once again to improving their overall standings in the series. Check out the race Sunday, March 2nd 6:00 PM ET on the SPEED Channel.
