ROUND 9 - INDIANAPOLIS, IN - RCA DOME - MARCH 1ST
ANAHEIM, CA (March 2, 2008) - Competing on a track he designed, Team San Manuel's Chad Reed took his sixth win of the 2008 Supercross season while team-mate Nathan Ramsey finished eighth. The ninth stop of the Monster Energy Supercross series hosted an impressive crowd of 57,284 which marks the very last visit the series will make to the infamous RCA Dome before it is demolished later this year.
Reed won Heat Race # 1 with a 49.625 lap time for the direct transfer to the main, while Ramsey took a sixth place spot in Heat Race # 2 for another direct transfer to the main event.
Series points-leader Reed grabbed the holeshot, taking the $1,500 Progressive Hole Shot Award for the second week in a row, and dominated the entire 20 lap race. Ramsey ran a tough race, running mid-pack most of the main and was able to round out the top 10 with an eighth place finish.
Reed, who had never garnered a win in Indy had this to say, "I'm happy, I got the holeshot and I felt like this was one of my most dominating performances of the year, and it's good to have it on my own track."
