Bridgestone Riders Continue To Dominate Motocross Series
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 28, 2008) - Bridgestone-shod riders continued their undefeated run this season, again taking the overall victories in both AMA motocross and the AMA motocross lites division at the Washougal Motocross Park in Washington, this past weekend.
James Stewart, riding a Bridgestone-shod Monster Energy Kawasaki, took wins in both motos. Stewart now has a perfect score of 450 points from the first nine events. With only three events remaining, teammate Tim Ferry is the only other rider who could mathematically win the 2009 title. Ferry has 305 points.
There was closer racing in the Lites Division, where Ryan Dungey, riding a Bridgestone-shod Makita Suzuki took the overall win. However, the moto wins were split between Dungey and the championship points leader, Ryan Villopoto.
In the lites division championship, Ryan Villopoto, riding a Bridgestone-shod Pro-Circuit Kawasaki, now has a total of 438 points, and leads the championship by 109 points over Dungey, who has 329 points.
In AMA Supercross and Motocross national competition, Bridgestone is the exclusive tire supplier to the factory Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha teams, plus the Pro-Circuit Kawasaki team.
