Things getting stuck open would not change if it flooded or not. The engine still has the same vacuum regardless and if more gas tries to force itself in there, it will not go in. Thats the whole purpose of the jet. Now maybe you were saying that, not only did the jet fall out but the float get stuck open AND the overflow tube could not drain fast enough. If he ever comes back with more details this problem can be resolved.

Will not be that excessive. Granted the carburetor will still be below the the tank but there are like 18 spots of where the gas can drain from on a carb. I guess I could use math and calculate the atmospheric pressure upon the gas plus its own weight and then what the vacuum of the engine was at the time to see if gas was actually being forced in harder than the engine can suck or I could just wait for what he has to say.
