are the valve hitting? are you sure you got the timing correct? (guess we forgot to tell you to slowly turn the motor over after you got it back together)

i think it is the valves because i can take of the head cover and i can turn the motor with my hand but i put it back on and itll get half a turn and i cann see the piston is stopped at the top of the cylinder and want budge i cant tell if the valves are hitting but if they are then it would be the timing right ???

another thing about missouri, they mostly have all the time in the world, so not only is there no governer, their motors are fully built with performance parts.of course, they still never cut their lawns.

i only mow my lawn all of the time because the bike breaks down. (fuel is no problem because i bought a syphoner thing. you stick it in their gas tank, and push on a bubble, and gas will come out of the other side) i can just imagine the looks on my neighbor's faces when they couldnt get their cars started because i had syphoned their gas.

is it idling very ruff?

if so, you may have the valves close but not correct...
try moving the cam one notch forward or back
(be sure to turn it over by hand (with out the spark plug) before you try and kick it)

what does it sound like?

yeah it was idelin ruff so im guessing thats the problem but is there anyway i can tell if its right without putting it all back togther and kicking it because this motor is a pain to take apart and put back toghter while its on the frame

it sounds like it has half the power it should sputters and trys but it just cant stay runnin

turtle youve been right about everything so far adjusted the valves got it started for another 30 secs and it ran smooth so i know i got that fixed but when im starting it up i think the problem is that its getting to much gas but when i crank it after its been sitting it want start without givin it a little gas what could the problem be here ?
