PW50 Woes

Help! My daughters PW50 is refusing to idle with the choke off. I've pulled the carb and cleaned it twice, I put in new gas, changed the plugged, double checked the air cleaner and can't figure out why it still won't run. It hadn't been started in about 2 months, so i'm thinking the sitting may have caused this, but still, I've cleaned the heck out of the carb and the jets are clear. I can ride it with the choke on and it runs just fine, but as soon as you turn the choke off it dies. At this point, I'm wanting to choke this thing. Any thoughts?

check the fuel filter, and how did the air filter look? make sure it has spark. first thing to do is change the oil, it probably is about time.

i don't think that it would be the fuel filter... i would look into the float and pilot jet

Fixed! I've learned a lot with this thing and I realized I didn't know where the pilot jet was (I thought it was something else). I bought a service manual and bam, pilot jet is ultra tiny and stuck up inside the carb. When i pulled it out it was totally clogged. After cleaning and putting it back together, it starts on the first kick and rips my fat butt down the street like nobodys bidness! Thanks to everyone who responded. Let's go ride!

Make sure you clean the baffle, it can cause you to lose power and make it hard to start. Be careful with your knees when you turn that thing.(ask me how I know!)
