| Administrator | well, with a 2 stroke the major tell tale sign of a new top end required is the bike not starting on the first or second kick. if you cant get your 2 stroke started on the 1st-3rd kick then you should really consider a new top end. also, if you notice any hard starting when warm or if you notice a drop in power once your bike has warmed up. these are they noticeable symptoms, but to really determine if a top end is in order is to know how many hours are on the bike or to take it apart and look. basically you will notice trouble starting and lack of power when a top end begins to wear. also, please dont let others trick you. there are a few idiots out there that claim that your bike will smoke more when the rings wear out. however you ride a 2 stroke and it will always smoke and ring wear will not cause more smoke. hope this helps. if you have any other questions let me know.

| Super Moderator | put it in 1st or 2nd gear and try to roll the bike, If you can move it easily you need a new top end.
