| C Rider | removing plastics I just got home from a trip up north. I spilled on a tight right hand sandy turn and layed the bike hard on a bank. I thought the bike was alright so I went on to finish my ride. Later that day back at camp I noticed I had pushed the right radiator in and back pushing the lower outlet pipe down and forward cracking the core but not rupturing it.(sorry for the spelling mistakes) Anyways, I got home and began to take off the shrouds to have all but three of the bolts and inserts spin in the tank! I had cracked the right shroud and bent it up good but now I need to replace the tank and the both shrouds. I ended up cutting the right one off. Is there anything I should of done or need to do in the future to prevent this again other than anti-seize? I forgot to mention I bought the bike used, it's an 05 and as far as I know, it's all original. ![]() |

| C Rider | the threaded inserts that are molded into the tank from the factory are the ones that are spinning. I guess I don't understand what you mean. locktite will basickly glue the bolts in place. or do you mean use it to reinforce the inserts so they don't spin inside the tank next time I remove the bolts? |

| Super Moderator | apply a light coat on the outside of the inserts, should hold em in place.

| Administrator | those inserts shouldnt be spinning and i dont think loctite is going to fix your prob. when u buy the new plastics u broke, get a good brand and u should have no trouble.

| Super Moderator | little metal circle type things, threaded on the inside, supposed to pop into the tank or whatever, if they can pop in then surely they can spin no? hence a adhesive to hold it.
