ya, just plain 80wt gear oil is what i recommend to all 2 strokers. i ran it and recorded no wear on the gears and a clean transmission. there arent many things that are glittery, but metal is one.

i think what fatcat was saying is that there is no way parts of the transmission could be in the crankcase because the crankcase is airtight on them. and if there were pieces in the it could be from the crank the rod or the bottom of the piston. there is no other way pieces could have gotten in ther, unless something is seriously wrong with the bike.

yea, the edges of the crank and my rod look like that a little bit to on my bike, even though gas and oil should be coating them. but its not that bad though. maybe it just does that with time i guess. has the bottom end been replaced on it yet?

then it should be fine. theres no need to replace the bottom end if its fine. that gold coating shouldnt cause a problem.
