Shifter stripped out

Well the shift shaft is stripped out on the yz. its going to have to be welded for now. I was wondering, Is there a certian way to weld it to make it easy to get off when the cases are split next time i blow it up? i will replace the shaft then.

the shifter shaft is stripped? wait isnt yur shift lever aluminum and the shifter shaft steel??? if u do have matching metals then just try to weld on the tip of the shaft around the edges so u can just grind it off later.

hmmm, most shifters are aluminum. is it colored? even my old 1989 rm80 had aluminum. if u are sure then don what i was saying, otherwise if u are unsure then put a magnet on it and see.
