so, my old rm80 had pieces of the crankcase gasket pieced back together with gasket maker. no wonder the first time i rode it the antifreeze became half full and the oil was always topped off. fixed that immediately.

i will reuse a clutch gasket once or twice, and i never have replaced the copper washers on my head, but never a base or head gasket

what about the brass crush washer on the oil drain plug? they say to replace it every time, I havent replace mine yet, and well, youve seen my bike it dosnt look run down.

well, technically once you have seated the washer for the first time it can never fit exactly into that groove perfectly again and could leak. so to avoid sould be leaks they say replace it. they also say to change your oil every 15 hours which is the same time you are supposed to change rings.
