Question Antifreeze Question

We have always used the green 50/50 antifreeze in our bikes. The guy that lives next door to us put some of the red 50/50 antifreeze in one of our bikes. He did not drain the green antifreeze out he just added some red antifreeze to it. Will it hurt anything. I have always heard that the green antifreeze is the good one, and not to use the red in anything not even cars they say that it will gum everything up in the motor. Thanks for any help that you may be able to give me.

k well this post was answered in the first thread you posted it in. however to eliminate confusion, i deleted all those posts and will just give you a straight answer here:

personally i would suggest Prestone 50/50 pre-diluted. it will be green and its made for any engine. this is going to be fairly cheap at around $8 a gallon. if you are referring to red antifreeze for cars, this is usually only for a specific car brand. if you have the cash, grab some engine ice or other waterless coolant. also, make sure you never dilute coolant yourself to save money. the pre-diluted coolant uses softened water which is much better than you doing it yourself.

engine ice is great, but make sure you have any overflow problems under control before using it because it is $20 a liter.
