I am currently working on a project and I need a little bit of help with it. I am working an a riding area database that is a little better then what we already have. Since I know I dont know where every riding area is in the world I would like some help from you. I want to know about the places you ride so we can provide better information for people looking for info about certain riding areas.

So I am looking for:
1. A link to the riding area from google maps. Google Maps
2. A little information about the riding area. Hours, what is available, fees, phone number, address, and anything else you think people may find helpful.
3. If you have any pictures of the area please get them to me via attachment in this post. If you are posting multiple areas please make sure to post each area in a new post.

Please do not post any comments in this thread. If you have any questions you may ask them here.
http://www.mototips.com/general-off-...your-help.html

This is going to be the start of our list. Thank you for all your help.

NO FEE-burlington ridge trail system in nevada county california. maintained by nevada county woods riders. billboard with information & free maps of trails in dispenser at staging area. the maps will be complete. i included a partial map of the trail system with this post. off road bikes & remember to have your current sticker depending on color & time of use/season. open sun up to sun down year round with green sticker or as conditions permit. approximately seven(7) miles east from nevada city, calif 95959 on highway 20 heading toward bear valley, before you connect with east bound interstate 80 to truckee/lake tahoe/reno. the turn in is at the top end of chalk bluff road off hwy 20 to the right heading east from nevada city or on the left heading west from hwy 80. it is easy to miss & i've done it after 25 years, so keep an eye out. travel down the gravel road for 1/16th of a mile & turn left into the staging area. the nevada county woods riders do a great job of maintaining the staging area & trails. there is a new modern(roofed/vented/windowed) inside locking door toilet encloser made out of concrete & is always stocked with the essential rolls. the gravel staging area has plenty of room to pull your trailer in & off load, or back a truck up to the landing dock for unloading, there's plenty of parking & room for all. dock is constructed at different elevations for various truck suspension heights. one picnic table of stone grade quality & it sits under a tree. i've lived here twenty five years & have yet to ride every trail. there is something for everyone, novice to skilled. many fire roads for those teaching novices to ride on open flat road conditions & smaller tight single tracks for the little ones as well as for us big guys. the trails can be dusty in summer to muddy in winter with parts of low lying trails being full of water. for us green sticker riders with cabin fever, parts can be completely snowed over with patches here & there in early season, or after a late season snow fall. to leave most of the trailed map system, we travel along highway 20 before the end of omega trail, we jump to the other side of highway 20 where there is more endless riding. the cross over point is in the middle of a uphill/downhill straight away on highway 20. so use caution & look both ways before proceeding. once on the other side you can ride to the little town of washington if you know the trails that criss cross the back way or use a map & stay on the forest service road. requirement(FSR)=fuel storage reserve)unless starting out here & not the staging area. at the top you can look out over bear valley, view fuller lake reservoir & have lunch & continue on(FSR). i prefer to head straight to a designated turn around point, check fuel amount, then continue on or turn around from there. i prefer to run out of fuel closer to the staging area than farther away. again, a quick pretrip up the road & a gallon or two of fuel stash can make all the difference. also one has to take into account of their type of riding style. heavy or light on the throttle? early in the season there are patches of snow, as with late in the season after a snow storm. last year my son & i were the first riders to hit the trails. we went around some snow patches, through smaller ones & others we spent a lot of time trying to get through to get to hard ground. used a lot of fuel & no (FSR)oops, my bad, walking an hour or so at night in the forest with one small light in riding boots. it is real dark at night in the forest without a moon. no fires, no over night camping at the staging area, bbq? yet on the other side of hwy 20 up the road you can camp overnight off hwy 20 up the road where you cross over on bikes. though not a designated camp ground or site, besides other riders, i've never seen anyone there but a few hunters & a couple of people taking the back way to the little town of washington. most the trails listed are for bikes, the pioneer & hallelujah trails are for bicycles/pedestrian & horses. occasionally the trails are not marked from one end & i myself have come face to face with a horse & it's rider. after a quick explanation that the trail wasn't marked from my direction or where i entered upon it etc, we go our separate ways. i always do my best to observe the rules in order to keep the riding area open for all to enjoy. mistakes do happen, but we can get through them with minimal injury/insults to both sides. last year, do to the high fire danger & lake tahoe fires, the forestry came in & shut down the trails mid season until the fire danger was down to safe levels. last year was my first encounter with an out of towner with an attitude on the trails in twenty five years. most visitors are as friendly as i am when traveling/riding/wheeling/off roading/mountain climbing. coming around a turn on my 300exc, they had let the novice rider lead the pack & due to lack of experience, she wasn't sure what to do as she swung her bars & front tire back & fourth with indecision. no time to stop & not sure which way the little girl was going to go, i ended up in the bushes to avoid a collision. no harm-no foul. yet one of her dads friends decided to carry it further with verbal harrassment blah blah blah etc. after making sure the young lady was okay, my son & i went on our way. only takes one ding dong with an attitude to try & wreck the day. things happen, stay alert & always keep the novice to the rear of the pack, not out in front. the tahoe national forest is a great place to ride & enjoy the outdoors. ride down to the streams or rivers & cool off a bit under the pine trees. at the other end of chalk bluff road there is an open area we locals call greenhorn. 4wheel drives/atvs/quads/mx bikes/buggies/truggies you name it. they all come down here to test their gear. it is all gravel in the bottm area, not real stable for bikes, but it goes back up into the canyon for miles, with off shoots of more trails here & there. also there are some of the best hill climbs i've been on back up the canyon, with minimal risk of not making the climb. sandy/gravel mix, where you can stop your bike, get it headed in the downhill direction & try again in the event you don't succeed the first time. greenhorn river runs through the bottom of the open area & is 6 inches deep(max) x 6 feet wide(max) in summer with an occasional deep hole. again, you could ride this for days & not ride all the trails. it also connects into the trails mentioned above from the staging area. it has been said that you could ride the trails from here & end up in the state of nevada crossing hwy 80 a few times obviously(FSR). this is beautiful country up here. there's a new holiday inn built in grass valley three miles away from nevada city if you need housing accomodations with many more camp grounds near by & inbetween the staging area & nevada city. there's also nevada county fair grounds in grass valley. i always bring more food/water & fuel/mix than i need. in our camel baks we carry extra clothing etc. for the return trip to the staging area or changing weather conditions. i have numerous spare parts/tools/xtra food/water/camera/matches/light & a ketchup jug for the transfer of fuel etc. i carry in my camelbak, as it is always easier to change out a plug or tighten a nut/bolt, then it is for one rider to go all the way back to the vehicle at the staging area to get spare parts/tools etc, again(FSR) then return to the other rider & bike. i have to stash fuel/oil mix in some of the caches i've dug depending on which direction & how far we decide to travel that day. ahh, the down side of two strokes, but well worth it. i have yet to find a better place to ride. from smooth fire roads, smooth dirt covered single tracks to rocky, steep & some difficult trails. yet no extreme trails here. on chalk bluff road there are a few scattered homes, so be aware & watch for seldom local traffic & on the forest service roads as well if you need to or decide to travel on any of them. from greenhorn you can ride down lowell hill road, cross the river by steep hollow canyon & ride all the way over to the little town of dutch flat, kick it for awhile, eat lunch, then head back. last year i came within inches of running over a 5ft rattlesnake on i service road & yes, as i teach my son, if you're not going to kill it to eat it, then keep your distance & leave it be for another day. 10ft rule works fine for me here thanks. you could ride the power lines & trails by the reservoirs etc & not see it all. so many trails to ride, that you could spend your life trying to ride them all. seems everytime we go out, they are different & new. for a rider with a dual sport machine, the trails are endless & you could ride from grass valley to colfax to squaw valley, little town of washington, state of nevada & all points inbetween. be safe, be legal & always ride hard-ride free. check this out Nevada County Woods Riders Home

Carbon Coal

this area used to be a coal mine, the whole lot of it, since it has been shut down, the area has been used by hikers, and off road enthusiasts alike, the terrain is gentle, you could take a vw bug over most of it, this is really just a cruise. However off to the sides there are little tracks and hills, and several trails that branch off the road to the mining facility. The area has no office.

Mountain Parkway Off-Road
it is open all year, all day and night. it is 15$ per day per rider, and 25 to camp for a weekend. they have places t camp with grills at every site..

Contact - address and phone number
Directions - directions and maps

3.i dont have any pics of this place, but it is a really nice riding spot. they have a decent mx track, but focus mainly on the trails. the trails are labelled and MSR tracks, labelled in difficulty rangind from novice to expert (using much the same system as a skii slope uses). im unaware of the acreage, but its more than enough. nothing but hills and deep advanced trails

on a side note - they have a trail that runs onto a mountainside that you can ride onto, and watch the dragstrip from up in the hills, really good view too.

dont enter me for the simple green products or whatever,. just thought id throw this up here. sorry for and vagueness or unclarities, let me know if u need anymore details.
