![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | why cant a 2 stroke have a 4 stroke set up? its quite simple actually. get some low octane gas, keep the intake valve. (or exhaust) keep a hole in the cylinder to serve as whatever valve you get rid of. specialize a camshaft. you still have the 2 stroke powerband. plus, you are being environmentally friendly (like i really care). that way, the 2 strokers will be left alone. so... i know there have to be holes all over this, but... what do you think?

| Administrator | think about this. it would break hard. say you add an intake valve. so we have an intake stroke. then it heads up for the compression stroke. now when it goes down for the power stroke you have one of 2 choices. this would have to be your intake cycle as well as exhaust if you wanted to keep the 2 stroke setup. but if it is going down on a compression stroke the intake would backfire hard if the valve opened on the compression stroke. so that is super broken right there. now say you wanted to add an exhaust valve. well then you loose the 2 stroke powerband because the valve controls exhaust flow, not the pipe design. there, tig has spoken.

| Administrator | ya, but the valves are the major issue.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | if you wanted it to work right you would have a pathetic excuse for a 4 stroke eventually.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | besides I thought one of the pros for a 2stroke was less moving parts.

| Administrator | well, you would take away everything before it became a working engine again. this is why there are no engines made like this.
