atf is fine in the forks, its not hurting anything.

yet my xr had atf in it, the suspension performs the same now with bel ray 5 weight as it did with atf.
atf's consistency does not change if I remeber right.

Hmmm.... as long as it doesn't get frothy it would stay super consistent. It would be a good thing when you change your fork oil to run ATF for a ride then change back to oil. Everything would be real clean.

so why was my comment made into a new thread? but dirtbike forks have 5w in them from what i have seen. but adjusting your suspension is really important, people seem to forget about it alot of times. buying springs for your weight and riding ability is the most important thing, then getting your sag is next. after thay it is on to your clickers on your forks and shock. getting the rebound right is more important than compresion damping because rebound is what gives you grip. and rebound damping also sort of acts like compression damping in a sense
