![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Lawnmower Flywheel hey guys, after taking it back apart 3 times, the lawnmower is finally ready. i know, sad. but ive only touched it for like 1 hour per weekend cause i was busy. but anyways, it runs a little pooey. knocking and backfiring, and its got 91 in it. im thinking flywheel gap is wrong off of the coil. i know we never acurately gapped it, and i know one side is gapped more than the other. do you know if this could be the problem? do you know what it gaps at?

| Pro Mototips Member | get the magneto as close to the magnets as possible with out touching within .02" sputtering back firing sounds like valves in the wrong place? can you adjust the cam moving it advanced and retarded?

| Administrator | To gap the magneto, slip a business card in between the flywheel and magneto and turn it until the magnet is pulling the magneto towards the flywheel with the card in between.. Timing can be off if you put it together wrong. Usually a alignment mark on the cam gear.

| Pro Mototips Member | what you don't spin start yours? the battery in mine is so dead (done) that once you let it sit for more than 24 hrs you have to hold the starter on and spin the engine by hand to get over the compression strokes
