How do you get all the black scuffs out of plastics?

Sanding is the only legit way. Plastic renew actually peels off.

i tried sanding, it just smears it. oh, and gasket remover sometimes works, but that stuff scares me! a drop of it got on my face and burned a mark

No sanding that takes days will fix it. It just comes down to what your time is worth. You keep going up in grit then buff with steel wool then buff with cloth wheel and buffing compound.

mr. clean magic eraser works miracles, I feel I am repeating myself.
seriously, I had black dug ground into my shroud graphics, they survived pressure washer and degreaser, mr clean took it out.
oh yeah, splatter off or my chain ended up on my coolant catch tank, again, only thing that took it out is the eraser.
