Transporting KLX110

Hey all,

I'd like to buy a KLX110 "mini" bike that is about an hour drive away... all I have is a Toyota Corolla with a Class I hitch. Do I need to buy a trailer to transport this bike around? Do you think it'd fit in my trunk somehow..? My Class I hitch is too weak to hold up the bike on its own Any cheap / easy ideas on how to go about transporting this bike around?

Thank you!

welcome!
i think it would fit in your trunk, but it would probably leak gas all in your car. i would just go with a real cheap trailer craigslist.org

The hitch is able to support it. Tongue rating on Class 1 is usually 150-200lbs. I had a custom rack that I put on my Class 1 hitch that was fine with my 232lb bike.

HOMEMADE TRAILER, that thing is sweet.. how can you go wrong for $2? :-D

Yeah, Class I runs at 200lbs.. the KLX110 is listed at 141lbs dry, and there exists:

Lightweight Aluminum Motorcycle Carrier - The AMC-400

a carrier at 37lbs, which totals under 200lbs, so I think that'd work.

A guy is willing to drop off a 2007 KLX110 at my place for $900 -- sounds like a decent deal to me

Thanks guys!

phr00t's - Google Video

I'm just in the process of selling my powered paragliding equipment. It is damn cool flying around, but the (rather expensive) equipment just sits in the garage when the weather isn't perfect -- I'm also saving up for a house with my wife.

I used to ride the Yamaha 80cc "Big Wheel" minibike years ago on trails near my parent's house. It was a ton of fun, and I want to get a new bike and find some new trails. No plans on racing, just tooling around on random trails.

How about you guys?

thats awesome!
however, i think you would be happier with a bigger bike.
like a 125 2 stroke, or a 200+ 4 stroke
