Signed up for the Air Force fresh out of High School. They ran an aptitude test, I scored high in the mechanics field. Right after Basic Training I went to Jet Engine Techincal School for 3 months to learn basic's, theory, operation and construction. Been going since then, 16 years. Strange thing, I am still learning. I dont think you ever stop. New technologies, different engines.....

I have never been next to one, but I program (CNC) and machine parts for them. In fact, about 50% of the prints that have been through our shop have been for the F22 Raptor or the F135 JSF. Some interesting technology in them for sure.

heres the pics guys and the story: a truck driver had a heart attack while rounding a corner in a convoy of 3. He stiffened up and layed the hammer all the way to the floor, he tore through a fence and took a path right towards a ditch, he hit the wall at a speed of 45 mph, which btw the truck was about 10 feet off the ground lodged into the wall of the ditch. My best guess is that the heavy load of gravel pushed the truck into the wall, and by into the wall i mean the entire hood was in the ditch wall all the way up to the cab.
oh and btw I have since moved up to mechanic!
enough talk heres the pics, I wasnt involved in getting out of the ditch, just in transporting it back.:
the engine:
the tranny:

the truck fell from here and landed where the gravel is:
I think the frame might be bent:

the path it took:

btw speed has been estimated at 75 from the time it hit the dirt, to the recorded by the insturments 45 when it landed
another pic of the path:

it went off from the flat spot:
and landed there:

one of the few 40 ton wreckers in NM and the largest in 4 countys, its named "the boss" thank me for thats what i called it when I was 5 lol:

This is why its the boss:

you know its cool
with the truck suspended we backed a landoll under it:

loading the engine:

all loaded up:

a better shot of the accident scene:

going home:
