Contests...

Ok... I want community input on what should need to be done to enter a contest. I know you all think being a member should be enough but we need to face the facts and look at why forums like to have contests. in short contests drive participation and when you win a prize you more then likely will tell a friend and that helps with growth and allows for more participation. This is turn will bring us more traffic and help build the community at a more rapid rate.

So now that you understand the main reasoning behind a contest. I have a few other reasons you should know too. Well one good reason besides activity. I like to reward the members because you are what makes mototips so great. This is my way of sending a big thank you to the mototips community. I know I have not been to active lately but I am putting in really long hours at work right now but all should be back to normal in a few more weeks. Thanks again to all of you and find reading your posts very fun and entertaining. Welcome to all the new members too. I am sorry if i didnt make it to your introductions thread but I still care about you all.

Now lets pop the question... What should be the requirements of a contest. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

I am always happy. I like your looser guidelines. 100 post minimum requirement is a bit on the steeper side as I would like everyone to be able to participate . Did you mototips is almost a year old now? I will make a post about that next month

How about a minimum post count for the month. Say 25 to 30 posts in the month. I like the idea of getting referances but sometimes that can be difficult to do.

Minimum monthly post counts work for me. I know references are hard to get and I will save that stipulation for larger contests .

if jthompson is gone much longer i will have to set up a contest. im thinking a minimum daily post to keep things active and maybe a required amount of gallery uploads each month to add some pictures to the site. ya those 2 things are for sure, now what would u like as a prize and what other requirements do u think are reasonable and lead to a more active site? maybe required to write a HELPFUL how-to article. ya i guess i will try to get something together for next month.

minimum daily post count sounds good. gallery sounds good. for a prize maybe a set of spider grips in your color choice?
technical article may not be such a good idea though.
