lets put this way, back in 81 you either rode a maico or chased one.
Our beloved Yamis, Zuks, Kawis and Honda's were the equivelent of a chinese bike basicaly, they spent their time taking apart maicos, learning about how to build a bike.
Yamaha released the yz465, which was basicaly a pros bike for the public.

ya, the 465 has alot to do with maicos down fall, the 465 could do everything a maico could, somethings better, and it was cheaper.

theyve tried to be revived in the past, but failed,
they have a spec sheet on the new bikes on the site

so, i dont see them taking too much of the competition away right now. they really dont have ANY features setting them apart.
