I just started taking everything apart. How do i drain the coolant? Also, i have a piston that was given to me when i bought the bike. It looks new. Could i just put that in instead of buying a whole new top end kit and use that for a while? or do i need other things...
The piston also says on the box that it can be used up to a 105cc bore kit and mine is bored out to a 113cc...

There should be a drain plug for the coolant, I have a ktm and it is on the water pump(right side where the hoses go in the bottom). You can't use the piston if it's not the right size, once you pull the cylinder you might want to get it checked to make sure of it's size,105/113? Also when you refill the coolant if you have a little plug on the side without the cap after you refill you have to tip the bike to the side of the little plug until it starts to run out then fill it again.to make sure there is no air in the coolant.be here al night let me know or ask anything at all!

no, i wasnt able to find the coolant plug, but i see the hoses and the only one that connects to the head doesnt have any coolant at its level so i think im ok. Still dont understand it so try to help me out with finding the drainage plug. Ill take out the piston tomorrow when its light out and i can see everything. When i refill the coolant, how do i know how much to put in? Thanks alot, im tired of bringing my bikes to honda and having them charge hundreds of $.

I chose what bike model i have and found the piston kit. It says nothing on any of them about being bored out or not.

Don't buy the kit until your sure of the size, the piston and or rings will be too small to fit and you will not have any compression! Look under the fatty pipe in your picture, the two hoses go into the water pump on that side, the drain should be there not on the head.take a close up pic so I can see better.

little 8 mm bolt on the water pump cover

you can run a 85 piston, but something tells me you wont have a lot of compression.
