97 motor in a 90 bike

I am new to bike and picked up a 1990 cr250 without an engine. I have found a engine and electronics out of a 1997 cr 250. Will the 1997 motor and electrics fit in the 1990 chassis? thanks

it may work, but you may end up spending a god bit of money to make everything work right

see how its the same bike and the only difference is the year it should work
see if you can find the locations of the engines mounting holes

You can always make anything work but I can guarantee welding will be needed. However, the extent of it is unknown. So if you are fine with that, dive in because you can make it work.

it may but it may not, i have not tried to do this to that bike...
the only things you have to worry about is having enough space and getting it all lined up

making some engine mounts is not that hard

unless youve already bought it or already own it, id just go ahead and look on ebay (using a mototips link ) for the right motor, its always better to get it right the first time than having to make tons of money wasting modifications.
