the cr500AF uses the same engine as the old cr500s, but it has a cr250 frame, its pretty nice. but the kx500AF uses the old kx500 engines, but they put them in KX450f frames, which is even nicer

you could always just find a cr500 engine and shove it in your cr250's frame, voila, cr500af.

2troke is on a distinguished road
I heard from TT that CR500's and KX500's are the perfect trail bikes if you can mind the vibration. These are really good desert bikes i would go with the KX500 because it has a powervalve you can always modify a modern KX fender to put on it if you dont like the looks. The KX500 rear fender bugs me too but so do the 90's CR500's.

they are aluminum framed and you cant just go welding and cutting on it

for hill climbs probly, but i can gurrantee that they werent on the track that much, and it was probly with a steel frame, not an aluminum one
