o-ring chain usually will not have a problem with clearing the side of the case. just look and see how much room you have between the chain now and the side of the case. if it is more than 1/4 inch u are fine. if u are worried about the case saver for some reason which you shouldnt be, u can buy thinner ones or u can grind them out yourself. u do realize the power loss with an o-ring chain right?

That may be true. On some bikes they did not allow enough clearance. My recommendation would be to re-gear it if you are really wanting the o-ring chain. (you technically should change sprockets when you change the chain anyway) or just go for a quality standard chain (D.I.D. Gold or equivilant)

well think about how loose a roller chain is, how u can just whip it around. now with an o-ring think about how it is all tight and somewhat stiff. thats power loss for you right there, not a huge amount but u do lose power. thats why sx bikes and others dont have them. any friction equals power loss and therefore is avoided by me

Guess it depends on if you wnat the added power or the added durability of the o-ring. I like the longevity and minimal maintenance of the o-ring. I guess having 3 kids and a wife I like to make things as simple and cheap as possible on myself!!

The power loss really is not much. I am a strong supporter of the longevity of the oring chains. Never had a problem like this before though...

went out and bought DID oring chain. The diffrence between oring and non oring is hardly anything. The man at shop said if i went for a cheap make then there may be more diffrence. thanks for your help.
