| Pro Mototips Member | no this will not work, #1 the thing is to small to run the bigger light, it will be dim as hell, if it lights at all, #2 running an audio system wouldnt work either because the you wont be able to hear it, even with it idling because it wont get enough power, #3 after all this it probly wont have enough power to make a spark

| Pro Mototips Member | if the bike has a dedicated lighting coil then he should be able to trickle charge a large battery during the day he is going to need led lights or something of the sort that does not draw a lot of power but produce a lot of light

| Administrator | Ok, so I guess I will lay some tig on this article hard. First off, there are very few stators that are AC. Usually they are triple phase DC (a.k.a. spinning a motor) or they are just pulsed DC. That is why they can directly connect the stator to most bikes CDI units and are able to directly connect to the voltage regulator on quads. If it was AC, the size of the diodes used for the rectification process would be massive. However, now for the bad news. This is not going to happen with what is packed on there right now. Even a re-wire of the stator will not get you even close to where you will keep the battery topped off. You should never rely on the stator to charge the battery, just keep it topped off. For this project, you will require a bare bare bare minimum of 300 watts just for the speakers, this is way under. It will be more like 700 watts of power consumption when you count inefficiencies. So, car alternator is looking like a viable option. However, you are need 1hp just to power everything and assuming an average effieciency of 75% for the belt drive and another average effecincy of about 60% to cover the rest of the rotational mass, you are looking at a bare minimum of 2hp loss. Granted the numbers show up small but in reality it will be more like a 5-7hp loss. So if going fast is not a problem, go for it. I think that is a good base of knowledge. Need anything else, feel free to ask.
