| Administrator | Sounds good, just make sure to look for a battery with a large number of charge cycles. A lot of deep cycle batteries are fine with this, seeing as they are used for trolling motors on boats. However, some will break hard and only give you like 1000 actual charge cycles.

| Pro Mototips Member | my thought was to just extend the life of the battery between charges... but if it last 2 hrs it should be fine .... my bikes run ac current... will DC 3 show up an a ac meter just like ac?

![]() | Im sitting on my bike now with just the 2 speakers going and it sounds GREAT!!! Good ol' fiberglass enclosures. These pods arent even sealed and the woofers arent even screwed down yet and they still sound great Im very pleased. I bought a JBL GTO804 today (JBL's Little high end 8" subwoofer) and ordered a Kinetik 800 Battery. Im so excited to finish this project and im just a quarter of the way through!!! |

| Administrator | Turtle, even pulsed DC will possibly show up as AC, however it will usually be half the voltage. Triple phase will also basically show up as AC however your bike should not be dealting you AC. I have not yet seen an AC bike however maybe back in the older days they were dif. Does the bike you are referring to have a battery? If it doesn't then the odds are stacked super high that the bike is DC. What makes you believe it is AC? If it is just plain old CDI, that is still pulsed DC. The pulsed DC is required for the transformer because it needs a disturbance in the field to induct voltage. This is usually done through pulsed DC. And if you have a CDI system, it can't be AC. Capacitors will filter this out and would cause a smooth current flow which would not work for the transformer. So...
