Points or CDI

is my 86 XR100R have a cdi or is it a points system? im told its points but im not sure

just check to see if you can find a CDI box, its black and it might be behind the number plate or right over top of the carb, but it might be somewhere else

there is no wiring so thats y im asking. my buddy told me if its points then its a lot easier to weire then if it was cdi. i believe its points because behind the flywheel there is a little piece that has two contacts and it moves on a spring. he said if it is points, alls i need is a coil, condensor and a kill switch and it will run.

With that description, points is the answer. That is weird though, my 1989 RM80 had CDI.
