No, as long as you jet your bike correctly for the muffler your bike will be just as reliable. What brands are you looking into?

I was looking at either BBR, Pro Circuit, or FMF

nice, FMF has the awesome powerbomb and megabomb pipes which r nice if yur lookin for a full system. i havent seen a supercross pro who doesnt use one so they must be good or somethin. i think Pro Circuit has the Ti-4 system that is pretty nice and i dont know too much about bbr.

are the crf230s compatable to that type of fmf exhaust? and what i meant when i said will it effect my bike is that i was set to mind that every part in the bike was meant to work with eachother correct? so if i change one part...will that mike it run differently in the loong run? or no

like $5 a jet and u usually get it on the first or second try as long as u kno wat yur doin. talk to someone at yur local shop or if u dont have a local shop ill tell u how to jet it. i would tell u right now, but if u want the detailed process it would take a bit to type it all out

its in the carburetor, the are these "screws" with tiny holes in them. when u put a pipe on, yur engine needs more gas(sorry i dont want to get into specifics) ne ways so u then in turn need to put one of these jets(screws) with a bigger hole into yur carb. there are some simple tests though to determine the jet size u need and if yur jetting is correct. the way u check jetting is by making a high speed pass after yur bike is warm. while yur full throttle, pull in the clutch and hit the kill switch till yur engine dies. keep the clutch and hit the brakes. once yur bike is completely stopped u can let the clutch out. remove the sparkplug and look at its color. if it is black or oily u need to get a smaller jet and if it is white dont ride yur bike until u get a new jet because that means very lean and thats bad. depending on how extreme yur engine is in these conditions will determine how many steps u need to change yur jet. when jetting yur bike, u usually change your main jet but there are other things u can change. u can adjust yur air screw, but first get yur main jet done. oh yea to get to yur main jet remove the screws on the bottom of yur carb. you will see a brass hexagonal scew with a hole in it. this is yur main jet. be careful of the other things in yur carb. damaging yur float is bad so be careful if u touch anthing else in yur carb. on the jet theres is a number like 180. this is the jet size, but be careful not to think too much of this size, it varies from one brand to another. usually one step in jetting is 5 points so if u had a 180 in there and she was runnin a lil lean u could bump her up to a 185. sometimes they even go up by 2's like a 178 to a 180. it just depends. well i hope that helped a bit.
