hi there all. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me the correct valve settings for my xr 250l 06 model. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i dont know the exact specs but intake are usually 0.004 to 0.007 and exhaust are usually 0.005 to 0.008. just make sure they are not too close and not too far outside of these ranges. heres a how to article on shimming your valves

an xr isnt shim type adjustment tig its the other kind i cant remeber what it is right now but i did a valve job on my 96 xr250r, its .004 for the exhaust and .005 for the intake i believe. I dont think they made the xr250 in 2006 i think the last year was 2001.

they use a single cam with rockers. on the end of the rockers there are screws which you adjust by first loosening a nut. i forgot honda rolls with the excessive amount of heat build up by using rockers, but thats how you do it. and usually exhaust should be a bigger number than intake. the reason for having clearance more than 0.000001 is because the valves expand with the heat of the engine and the clearance is just enough to keep them from rubbing. the exhaust valves usually get hotter and therefore expand more making them the ones to most likely want to be further away.
