Why more? How much and what type? I had heard that it goes through valves quickly (especially if racing), but that if you replace the Titanium valves with Stainless Steel that you should not have too much problem. Any truth to that? | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it requires a lot more oil changes, after every 6 hours. you have to clean the air filter after every ride and at least with honda they enjoy eating vavles.

![]() | Oil changes and air filter is no problem. I was worried that it might require more technical work (live Valves, etc.) more often. odd though that they require that more. What is it about the design that requires that level of work? Is the same true of the YZFs? |

| Administrator | like u were saying, if u switch to stainless they will last virtually forever. get a nice set like kibblewhite.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | the same for both, but the crf series is notorious for it. Tig will argue for them, but give me the tried and true yami twin cam 5 valve. also its a little harder to adjust the vavles on a crf or wr vs. the xr. WR is shim type where as the xr just has little adjusters.

| Administrator | ....ugh why doesnt honda just use dual cams. they think their Uni-Cam design is so sweet and everyone is like ya! only 1 cam so that must me half the rotational mass of 2 cams. then they throw in a set of the most inefficient things to transfer power and call it good.
