Java is on a distinguished road
Was on Craig's List today and found a 97 XR250 for $1650 and a 02 XR400 for just over $2K.

Since my daughter wants to move out at the end of the school year, I will only have about 9 months to ride with her so I may pick up one of these if they are still available.

My son has no interest in riding and neither does my wife so unless I find others in the Austin area to ride with, I may end up selling it in a year or so.

Guess we will see what happens.

Came across this and found this very intersting..

Write Up:
Calling Patman ref XR284 - Dirt Rider . Net, Dirt Bikes - Motocross - Off-Road - Supercross

Pics:
Patman-TX - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

He is asking 3K which is slightly higher than I had wanted to go, but given all the work and improvements, seems worth it.

Thoughts?

Regards,
Jay

I took it for a test ride, and it feels nice and punchy with good throttle response.

Feels a little heavy, but it's not an MX bike so I guess it is to be expected. It is a beautiful bike. I am not after raw top end speed but more punch in the saddle out of the hole.

Not yet. Told him I was interested, but that it would take me a week or so to get the money together.
