Honda CRF250R...trouble!

I have a 05 crf250r, and for some reason it does not want to kick-start. If I roll it down a hill, and pop the clutch it starts right up, and runs fine. Something that I noticed it does now, is when I try to kick-start it, it likes to back fire, and it even shot a flame out the muffler once. I would say that out of 50 tries it may start once, and I have to keep the throttle open a little or it will die out. Just for some history on the bike. It has never Idled that great, but that was never a real big issue to me. Now that It dose not want to kick-start, you can see how that opinion has changed. I have already put a new spark-plug in it, and have checked the fuel lines, and drained the carburetor. Need help, please!

1against,
I looks like, to me that you should check your valve clearances. If one of the exhaust valves is too tight, it will not close all the way and will be held open piston comes up into the the firing stroke. This will also affect the idling since your compression is down slightly. You may or may not notice your compression being a little low due Hondas decompression mechanism.
Also, be sure to check the decompression mechanism's clearance also. If it is too tight it will not let the exhaust valves close all the way.
How many hours on the bike?

ya, dirtbikenut has a pretty good point there, check valve clearances. but as far as the honda decompression mechanism goes, it actually barely gets used, it doesnt work the way it seems it should. i would explain but it takes lots of time to do.
