its a good idea to change your coolant every once in awhile anyways, i change it way too often, but theres nothing wrong with that.
this is very easy...

really great how to article but i just want to make the comment that those plates that you refered to as pressure plates are actually called friction plates and steel plates there is only one pressure plate and it is what is held on by the 5 bolts with springs friction plates are the fiber and of course the steel plates are just steel and i wouldnt recomend changing the basket unless its showing signs of being chattered ( little grooves where the plates ride ) not good grooves to deep means basket explodes possibly ruining your case or covers

That is fine. Everything has been simplified for an obvious intention in mind. To explain things in easiest terms to the reader. Obviously I could lay down a phat batch of ME terms that no one would ever understand but there is not reason for it.

On the fact of grooves in your basket... Sticky clutch is a tell-tale sign of grooving. Now there are two items that can wear due to the torsional load applied to the clutch basket and inner hub. The most common wear item is the basket. The grooves cause the plates to stick in place when the clutch lever is pulled in. This is because there is no assembly to physically expand the clutch disks. Therefore... You either have a terrible cable or you have grooving if your clutch is sticking.

warped plates will aslo cause a sticky clutch as well as warped pressure plate ive had both these issues on bikes in the past but i agree if your basket is grooved it needs replaced
