O-ring not cracked- and yes the bike is aluminum framed. I was thinking about the carb boot as I had to loosen the clamp to rotate the carb a bit.

thats what I was thinking, make sure its in their right, im not sure about yours, but on mine theres a little groove on the carb that needs to be lined up with a slot in the boot.

Mystery solved, when I had to rotate the carb, I removed the hot start plunger. When I put it back, I did not tighten it in. Thus an air leak.
