| Pro Mototips Member | well sometimes there is really no choice when you have something that is siezed up or rusted god awful like. but this can be prevented, first when you put a bolt on that wont be taken of for a while and it is in a wet spot on your bike, underneath it for example put some grease on the threads so it wont rust. also pit some anti seize on it if it is steel going to aluminum so it wont seize. threadlocker also keeps it from seizing a little. but mainly use a torque wrench so you know when it is tight enough, i wish i had one. but if a phillips head screw strips out you can cut a slot in it with a dremel tool. you can do this with just about any bolt. to get enough leverage on the scewdriver get one that has a square shaft and then find the longest wrench you can find to get enough torque on it

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | also, when it comes to removing, if its metric, use a metric wrench, if its standard, use a standard, and always use the right size! many times before i bought my metric sockets i stripped bolts out because the socket was too big. if you dont have the right size, either buy it or use a cresent wrench

| Pro Mototips Member | i find that for the Phillips and slot headed screws a chisel knocking on the out side or it in the direction that it need to turn works nicely and before you try to loosen a blot tap on it a little (helps free it)
