Applying graphics is a fairly simple process, yet requires some care and time to get it done right. Start off by cleaning the entire bike, not just the area on which you will be applying the graphics. This ensures that no dirt or other debris will fall off onto the area where your graphics are going. Make sure to clean the plastics with a soapy sponge and use plenty of water to ensure all soap residue is gone. Now, take the finest steel wool you can buy and buff the affected area until it is smooth. Clean again with soap and water. Next, lay out your graphics using masking tape to hold it in place. Move the graphics around until you get it where you want it and if applicable, make sure both sides are symmetrical. Next, put a few marks on the plastic, either with a permanent marker or a super light scratch. These marks will help you line up the corners of the graphics, the marks should be on two of the opposite corners on the top side. Next, remove the tape and peel off the sticker backing. Get some rubbing alcohol and dump it all over the plastic. This will allow you to "slide" the sticker around and over time the alcohol will dry leaving the sticker in place. So now with the alcohol drenched plastic ready, start with the top opposite corners and line the up with your marks and slowly smooth the sticker down onto the plastic from top to bottom. If you get any bubbles, smooth them out with a credit card. The alcohol will give you time to remove bubbles and center the sticker, but still work fairly quick. When done you should have perfect long lasting graphics that will withstand the harsh environment they are put through. If for any reason you cannot get a bubble out, take a needle and poke a hole in it and smooth it out with a credit card.
