yosh makes good pipes, have one on my xr and I like it, not sure if its much better than stock, I put it on as soon as I got the bike and cant find the stocker lol.

well i cant find real specs but they claim 96dB for a diff model for my bike but thats with the silencer in. idk, i imagine its like 98dB.

and its funny, i know the sound of my bike. i can always discern my bike from others no matter what. like i was at a riding area and i walked into the bathroom and there were lots of people at the riding area and i heard jim start my bike over all the others. its not blazing loud, i just know her sound.

phhp I know which one of my friends is coming by the sound of the bike (we live out in the country) I know what you mean, even though their are others just like it you always know which one is your huh?

its weird but i really know the sound. it was that way on my rm80 as well. as long as i can hear it, i can tell if its mine or not. it seems like that is super hardcore, when you know your bike by its sound. have you never noticed this before. i also know my parents by the sound of their keys and can find them in a store when i hear their keys jingle. i can discern between there keys and random keys.

btw tig I believe in the power bomb/mega bomb it acts as a premuffler therefore reducing noise.
