yea quiet and powerful is the best imo there is really no point in putting a cam in your bike if the exhaust can't go any where if you take a 3/4" pipe and blow 10 psi though it and you take a 4" pipe with a 3/4" adapter on it and blow air though it at the same pressure you will still have the same amount of flow as the 3/4" pipe with out changing the exhaust and changing the cam you only really get hp out of the intake right?

| Pro Mototips Member | well if you dont have anywhere for the combusted fuel to go even the intake wont really have that much of an improvement because more fuel wont go into the cylinder

| Pro Mototips Member | np tig the cam may help the intake let more air in using less suction, meaning that the engine would slow down less from making a vacuum? idk maybe that would only make it rev a little faster? but ya once it got to the exhaust port it would be restricted if you really want to go into it shouldn't it be ported first¿ the straighter and less baffles are in a pipe the better imo but, this makes it loud which sucks imo i kinda like the ¿super trap pipes? where you can take the plates out or add them to give you performance or stealth depending on what you are doing

| Pro Mototips Member | well companies shape the can and the headpipe ao the gas will flow differently making the power in different places according to where the rider wants it, and plus they usally let the gas flow through it easier so engine mods would work better. Just tol et you know im not on either side of this, im just giving my opinions on both sides. But that plate thing does seem pretty good turtle. and yea a port and polish does help, this should prb be one of the first things you do to your bike since it is free and you can do it yourself if you have the right tools, i.e. dremmel. And tig i thought you were going to right a howto on port and polish a cylinder for me back when i first joined the site. haha srry if im asking to much

| Administrator | yes but similar is not the same. even little changes in pipe sweep can change flow characteristics drastically. most pipes also increase pipe diameter making it closer to the actual exhaust port diameter. there is so much math and flow testing that goes into an aftermarket exhaust system. there is a reason there are so many companies out there making a profit on making exhaust systems. there is a reason so many people buy them as well.
