| C Rider | I need help with what bike to buy I am looking at buying the 08 KX100 but I am not sure if this is the right bike for me. I am a small guy 5'4 140lbs so a big bike won't work for me. How is the power and is mixing the gas and oil easy to do as I have only owned 4 strokes befor. I was also looking at the crf 150f, but I want lots of power. I will be doing trail riding and just playing around with the bike I buy. Any advice would be great. thanks |

| Pro Mototips Member | mixing the oil in the gas is easy you just have to remember how many parts gas to oil and carry a measuring device with you i would not get a 4 stroke that small...

| Administrator | I used to ride a kx 100 at one point of my life. It was really old though and i think it was bored. It was a great little bike. Mixing gas is one of the easiest things you can do. You just poor into a little mixer thingy that marks the ratios and then poor into your gas can and fill it up with gas and shake it all together and you are money. Welcome to the boards. Cant wait to read all your posts. When you get your bike make sure to post lots of pics. Have fun here at mototips ![]()

| Pro Mototips Member | if you wanted a 4 stroke the crf150R's are pretty fast. but im a 2 stroke lover so i would go with the 100. its very simple with the gas mix

| C Rider | Yes I want a two stroke because of the power and I love the sound of a Kawasaki two stroke. I am still a little gun shy of mixing the oil and gas. I have a five gallon jerry can for gas so I will have to try it out. What is the best and safest ratio for gas and oil? Most say 40 to 1 but I am not sure. |

| Administrator | 40 to 1 is fairly safe. I used to mix my gas at 32 to 1

| Administrator | Well, you can't just pick a ratio. You need to mix for whatever the bike was jetted to run at. If you want to change that ratio you have to rejet your bike. And please don't say you want a 2 stroke for the power.
